Metro rail
I forgot to blog about this last week. Lexi rode the metro rail for the first time last Wed. when we went to have lunch with David. The previous 2 times we have gone in to have lunch with David we have wasted 1/2 an hour to find a parking spot, so this time we opted for the train. It went really well on the way there. I found a parking spot very close to the elevator and the train was sitting at the station with minutes before departure. The whole way Lexi was watching the windows, breathing excitedly and making happy noises. It was an enjoyable ride for our little one. We met David at the station below ground by his building and found a place to eat in the underground shopping. We had a nice lunch and then headed into David's office. A few ladies enjoyed Lexi as David got back to work. Then Lexi and I strolled around in the shops underground before heading back home. It was so nice! I could just browse through places - I don't do that much any more because I spend a lot of time going to free standing stores and I don't want to make another stop to browse. So it was fun. The ride back went well - except I got on the wrong train. It really didn't end up being that big of a deal because it goes the same direction, but I didn't notice until we departed the last combined station (where I could have switched trains). So we got off and the next station, got on the train going back the way we came, got off at the next stop and got on the correct train. Wooohoo! Then we arrived back at the station the car was parked at without paying any more $ for our little error. However, Lexi was a bit done. WELL, the very elevator I we had taken a ride on earlier in the day was now out of order. This meant packing as much up in the diaper bag as possible and picking up Lexi. Then folding up the stroller and going up the escalator. I was really glad I parked close to the elevator because then I was done. It wasn't really that big of a deal, it was just getting warm and Lexi was ready to eat and take a nap. Really it was a great outing with a little excitement. We wouldn't want it to be boring, now would we? :)
