Moving into her new kitchen

Over Labor Day we visited some friends in NC and I had some play kitchen envy. It was much lower profile and had space on top to "cut" play food and have pots and pans on the stove. But most of all the oven was LARGE so she could play more realistically. Now, Lexi had a very nice play kitchen and it was very cute. It had a lot of fun features that she enjoyed. You can see it here - I can't find a good photo of it at our house quickly. It was a great craigslist.com bargain and we enjoyed it. It now has a new, happy home with one of her friends.

So I popped open my Toys R Us email one day and checked the ad quickly, just to see if there was anything good. And there was this kitchen! It's Melissa & Doug, but it's a Toys R Us exclusive so I hadn't found it any where until now. And it was on SALE. Woo hoo!

I didn't want to reward the store in our town with our business on this item because they NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE. I know, you think I am exaggerating, but I called no less than 5 times, letting the phone ring and ring, because I wanted to make sure they had one is stock. I called the store in Frederick and, imagine, an answering message with a menu, etc. and I talked to people quickly! But I didn't really want to drive to Frederick if they had it in town. And when we stopped in they did. So we caved.

Here she is, moving her things into her kitchen.

And here is a current view from her kitchen. Notice the snowflakes, a waste not craft that we spent some time on as a family in our house.

I love, errrr, she loves her kitchen :).

What a great kitchen. Looks very functional. And I see you are roasting a pepper on the burner, Lexi. Making something yummy I bet.

LOVE the new kitchen. I love the style and function of it. I like that it is in your kitchen/dining area so she can pretend along with you. Perhaps we will have to try that too.
