One of Lexi's more recent favorites is this bucket of puzzles I found randomly at Kohl's! It's great because it is a bunch of little puzzles, made up of 2-4 pieces. Each puzzle is a different color and shape and the items on the puzzle match the shape of the puzzle. She likes to take the pieces out of the bucket, put them in, match the colors (if I pull out a few different pieces she will find the matching color of the piece I hand to her), point at the items on the puzzles pieces so I can name them for her, try to put the pieces together (with help) or take them apart. It's one of her table activities. We got her Aquadoodle mat out after Christmas and she didn't understand the concept of the water pen only being for the drawing mat. She is used to just roaming around with all her toys. So we started table activities - puzzles and sometimes crayons and last week her first craft!
My mom took this one while there were watching Lexi. Mom was trying to get a photo of her with the bucket on her head - apparently this was happening repeatedly both before and after the photo was taken.
Here is the shaker we made together. She did a great job! I put the beads and bells down one and a time and she placed them inside. Then I closed up the container and let her pull the stickers off the sheet and place them. Then I taped it all up, adding some colored rhinestones I had to the sticky side of the tape on the bottom(the stickers wouldn't stick there) and then I gave it back to her. At first she just wanted to get the lid off, but I got her to start shaking it and then she got it. She walks around the house shaking it now. What fun! I guess the next time I empty out a spice container we will have to make another!
