Farm Day - and it was FREE!

A few weeks ago we headed out on a Saturday morning to what turned out to be a very cool Farm Day. It was held by a retirement community in town. There was live music playing - with a banjo! Lexi was excited to see that because in the updated version of the classic lullaby, Hush, Little Baby, "Mama is going to play her old banjo." Anyway, there was a petting zoo, a barrel train pulled by a tractor, pony rides and some fun games. Plus, cheap food! $1 each for a hot dog, bag of chips & pop - or $2 for all three!

The petting zoo was great. They had a fenced in area where Lexi could run around trying to pet rooster and chickens and ducks (we told her ok, go ahead and try to catch them!). She caught the pigs and goats to pet. And she got to hold a little tiny kitten and pet a bunny.

A pony, named Princess. She was sad when it started and happy at the end. We still talk about pony Princess!

She is the one in stripes, second from the right. She held on like this the ENTIRE ride! Never stopped steering. It was great! And it was a nice long ride, too.


Tractor races down the hill. Over and over and over.

Mostly because she wanted to walk down the hill "self!" to get it!

We had a great time and are so thankful for wonderful, free fun like this right in town!
