When we arrived Lexi quickly found some of her favorite things. The coolest thing about the trip, though, is how she seemed to just blossom in a new environment. Yeah, she woke up early (6:30 AM!) and was a bit defiant, but she was saying so many new words and just having a blast seeing so many new things.
The beach house we were staying at is literally feet from the boardwalk that runs for miles down the island. We were always going up to the boardwalk, or she went with Kathy or her daughter Katie, to see the train, the birds, feed the birds, or just walk around.
Feeding the birds. It was so exciting for her because the birds were so active and fun to watch. They would even catch the bread in the air if you threw it up.
Waving at the train, watching the train, hearing the recorded "choo choo!" She loved it.
Walking on the boardwalk. Lexi had a new independence on the trip. It was awesome to see, kind of sad for mommy and a little tiring, but amazing all the same.
