A new favorite

I think this is a new favorite. Snapped it on the last day of our wonderful trip to Shenandoah National Park. Definitely recommended. We stayed in one of the lodge rooms there. David and I agree it is one of the best trips we have been on. We got lots of fresh air, it was so relaxing, the weather was great and not too hot, lots of hiking around, lots of time with some wonderful extended family and it also happened to fall on the weekend of my 30th birthday!

The photos are in backwards order, but we are just going to roll with it because I want this post to actually happen right now.

On the way out of the park, a beautiful view in the early evening, even caught some of the sun rays.

At the top of one of our hikes. We saw some amazing views and Lexi showed amazing stamina on all the hikes. She wanted to walk the whole way!

One of our bear sightings. Don't worry, they are vegetarians and we were being cautious. It was just at the side of the road and apparently there were two cubs, but we didn't see them.

A highlight of the trip for Lexi, walking any where or doing anything with Bella and Lexa. They are her second cousins or something and she was just thrilled to be around them.

Smores at a campfire! Yummy!

One of the hikes to a waterfall. We didn't go the whole way because it was all down hill on the way down, so you know what that means to get back. Lexi did a lot of walking and she was so excited to have a little walking stick! Just her size.

A ranger gave a talk about some of the birds of prey in the park. He had a few different birds to show us that had been rescued and were being rehabilitated. This little screach owl was about the cutest thing I had ever seen! You should have heard the "Awww!" out of the crowd when it came out to say hello!

Hiking with Bella. I am sure that motivated her to walk herself, as well.

On the first day, at the top of our first hike. Just gorgeous! And I love all the little pools of water in the low spots on the rock.

Family photos!

We had such a great long weekend. We are hoping to go back this fall!
